Sylvano Alvarez was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area. After graduating from Half Moon Bay High School, he attended Santa Clara University where he received a bachelor of science in computer science with a minor in history. Upon graduation, he worked for several tech companies in the Bay Area. In 2008, Mr. Alvarez and his friend went backpacking through Latin America for nearly one year. He enjoyed traveling through Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Belize, and Guatemala.
Mr. Alvarez is of Mexican and Salvadorian decent. He speaks fluent Spanish, and enjoys learning about other cultures.
In 2010 Mr. Alvarez moved from California to Northern Virginia with his now wife. He studied law at the University of the District of Columbia where he graduated cum laude. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, running, traveling, playing soccer, and spending time with his wife and pets.
